Entrepreneurs Hate the Rules of Civil Procedure

previous post: Litigation Island next post: Lawyers Hate the Rules of Civil Procedure

It’s not surprising why: the Rules of Civil Procedure result in an incredible amount of lost time, wasted effort and squandered money.

Entrepreneurs like to get things done and make things happen.  Fast, efficient and cost-effective.

The Rules of Civil Procedure are designed to bog down civil litigation.

Rule 1.04 sounds great: “These rules shall be liberally construed to secure the just, most expeditious and least expensive determination of every civil proceeding on its merits.”

But the rules overall focus on securing a “just” result on its “merits”, which is crucial.  But there isn’t a whole lot going on that is “expeditious” or “inexpensive”.

For entrepreneurs, civil litigation is a nightmare.
